Community Invited to Family Spaghetti Supper and Game Night on Friday Night, June 8

The community at large is invited to join the people of Saint David's for a spaghetti supper and family game night on Friday, June 8 beginning at 6 p.m.  The evening is part of the parish Grow Group's effort to involve us in the wider community.  The evening will begin with a delicious spaghetti supper in the parish hall.  Following dinner there will be a variety of games to involve and delight people of all ages.

Plan on being with us for the dinner and the fun that follows. And think about inviting others who are not from Saint David's to join you. No speeches, no sales pitch, just a chance to have fun with one another and our neighbors.

EASTER GIVING TREE

On Easter Day, you will find a beautifully decorated Easter Giving Tree stationed in the Gathering Space. As you stop to admire the hand decorated Easter egg tags, please take one home so you can join us in assisting clients of the Ledyard Food Pantry and the Start Fresh food program for refugees. Many of these low income families rely on SNAP (food stamp) benefits, which, in January 2018, were reduced by the State of Connecticut. Gift certificates from local food stores for a low amount (max of $25), will help them purchase fresh vegetables, fruits and other healthy food that they currently have difficulty affording. All the information you need is on the back of each tag. Please return your gifts to the church office or place them in the Offertory Plate on Sunday. Thank you! Questions? Please speak to Maren Schober, Hilda Zeigler or Valerie Norris

LENTEN STUDY ON HOLY EUCHARIST

Fr. Mark will lead a series of three Lenten discussions for adults on the Eucharist at 9:15 AM on Sundays: February 25, March 4 and March 11. We will look at the historical development of the sacrament from Jesus’s time and look at the shape of the Eucharist and how it shapes us. Our children will also be studying aspects of communion during Lent.

On Sunday, March 18, there will be an instructed Eucharist for all ages beginning at 9:15 in the Parish Hall and continuing into the 10:15 service. We will look at some of the vessels and elements we use in the Eucharist. During the service we will pause to discuss the meaning of the various parts of the Holy Communion.
