Grappling for God
::
The 5th
and 6th grade Sunday School Class is excited to be using a new
curriculum called “Grapple.” This new curriculum helps teach Sunday School
lessons in a “hip” manner that is more enticing to preteens than traditional
formats. Every week students are able to wrestle with commonly asked
questions such as “Why do my parents always say no?” and “Can being a
Christian ever be fun?” Students and teachers work together to find the
answers to these questions by exploring the Bible, engaging in discussions,
watching DVDs and playing lots of games. In addition to time in the class,
the “Grapple” curriculum has an on-line computer component. We all know that
pre-teens are good at using the computer. “Grapple” allows them to use these
skills to connect with their teachers and classmates, preview lessons, play
games and build their Biblical knowledge and faith.
Youth
in the GFG
can participate in the Junior Choir, practicing during the first part
of the Church Service and entering the congregation at the Peace, or they
can unite with their family for the entire Church Service at 10:15.
