Kairos
#14 is being held at York Correctional Institute
in Niantic, November 5-8.
"Listen, Listen, Love, Love"
Kairos Prison Ministry is an interdenominational Christian ministry
that presents mainstream Christian teachings, such as Christ's love,
understanding, forgiveness, and acceptance in the prison community. It
is presented in a format similar to Emmaus, the teen ministry that our
youth are involved in.
Kairos is based upon a "Listen, Listen, Love, Love" theme and a
foundation of prayer. We're asking for your prayers to help the
volunteers be successful in listening and loving the inmates with their
hearts open wide and that the inmates will be receptive to the powerful
transforming love of our Lord and Savior. If you would like to have
your prayer commitment posted on the prison walls for all the
incarcerated women to see during Kairos #14, there are forms to fill
out in the parish hall. Women are amazed and often moved to tears to
realize that there are people who care enough to pray for them.
If
you would like to decorate a placemat or two, they will also be
available, which serve meals to these incarcerated woman, and they often
save and post on their beds.
If you have Connecticut
clearance to enter prisons, you are invited to the closing on November
8th at 2:00 PM.
Thank you for your support of this wonderful prison ministry.
